The other side of the tracks

Tracks and Old Building along the River Walk, Astoria, Oregon On the left (not seen here, of course) is the great expanse of the Columbia River. On the right are old tracks and a weathered building I particularly like. Between them is the River Walk, surfaced in blacktop and much-used on a nice day like this.

The structure is so close to the railway track. It must shake badly if a train passes by. I love the composition of the shot and the color of the rust!

I love the old buildings too and wonder about the stories they could tell. MB

It's nice to have a view of the other side. I am sure that this River Walk is lovely.

I would love to take a walk on this side too. I really like the "old abandoned" feel.

Wonderful photo, Sheryl! This is a bit different from what I've seen of Astoria in the past, but I love it...weathered and full of character! And railroad tracks always cast a spell on me...I get glassy-eyed and immediately look around for a camera!

Great shot Sheryl. This is about as industrial and "used up" as you've shown us. I really like it.

Very nice and it looks like the place where I was taking pictures on Sunday.

A memory off days past. I wish we could still see how it was used and watch a locomotive rumble by!
