What country is this?

In what country does this facade appear to be? Certainly not the Pacific Northwest of the United States. What do you think? But yes, it's one of Astoria's landmarks.

I've always liked this historic building in downtown Astoria, Oregon. I took the photo from 11th Street between the River Walk and Marine Drive. There are some interesting and picturesque businesses here, and many unexpected shots one could capture of the building. I've tried a few times, but I wasn't happy with the angles or exposures. It will be worth continuing to try! We'll see what I come up with. The light was nice today. You can see some blue sky, too.

It doth look a bit European! Glad you got some better weather. It's awful here...53 degrees right now, rainy and very windy and feels bitter cold and I hate it!

Are you sure you didn't take a quick trip to Spain, then hurry back in time to post this? Oh well, most cities are made up of a number of architectural influences. Astoria is certainly one of them.

I used to walk down here when I was a little kid with my cousin. I never have gotten tired of it- love the old buildings-

A nice catch! Interesting house, a definitely European look, but that dark red is something not Mediterranean, I'd say more Nordic or Central European...

I noticed a lot of this color on bldgs in Finland, and because this area has always been filled with Scandinavians...I would guess...maybe the style could come from that? Not the best facade for drizzly rainy Oregon, but look how long it's been there. (Sorry, catchin up on your photos. Love coming here!)
