This jumble is just to the left of where I was standing to take the pictures for yesterday's post. I wonder what this was? Does anyone know? Was it one of the markers that stand in the river? I don't remember what they're called, but I'm sure it was in some way historic.

Pisa?
Uh-oh. Was it always like that or is this a recent tumble?
There was a horror movie that was filmed in Astoria not too long ago - the title starts with a C and has too many consonants in it to pronounce - with Tori Spelling. Terrible movie IMO. Anyway, one of the scenes has a bunch of people locked up in a makeshift crate made of a bunch of haphazardly placed boards with gaps where they could reach out and look miserable. I wonder if this is the remains of that structure...?
Or maybe histrionic? Hysteric? Gosh, you coulda been kilt!
"Jumble" is the right word!
I think the horror movie was The Ring 2, but that doesnt begin with C. I don't know the wreckage but it looks similar to the observation tower on the Wa. side pictured last week on your blog
I didn't know that The Ring 2 was filmed there! The movie with the C is probably the 2007 Cthulhu, loosely based on a HP Lovecraft story.
Sheryl,
I'm emailing you a picture of this tower when it was up in June before they cut it up. I'll ask my friend what it was used for.
