OK, yes. This is weird. Thank you, Stephanie Roley, for sending this photo (see yesterday's post). What appears to be Mrs. Shively posing in front of her own tomb is actually an actor dressed up for a special occasion. Stephanie wrote: "Here's another one from Pioneer Cemetery that I posted on Facebook after the annual Halloween cemetery event. Now I can't even remember which historic group sponsors the event, but they dress in character and have interesting stories about some of the people buried there. As you can tell from the photo, this lady was not very nice (Mrs. Shiveley I believe)."
Tomorrow we'll move on to a new subject, but I couldn't resist giving this photo a day of its own. Thanks, Stephanie!

Now that IS cool.
That's so funny. And more than a little spooky!
You are right, this is very weird. And creepy! Though I have to admit, the Halloween cemetery event also sounds like a lot of hair-raising fun.
This is so strange... but effective!
And a well deserved day, at that!
Creepy but appropriate to the theme.
i would so love to go to such an event!
Characterising a person in such a setting is certainly creepy but somehow magnetising and eerily fascinating! Great photo!
It looks like she has just popped out of the door behind her to go on a spooking spree.
I suspect Ms Shively is turning over in her grave... LOL!
Like ghost tours that so many cities seem fond of offering.
What if you were walking around a cemetery and found this for real!!

What a hoot! I would love to attend something like this! Yes, not all the dearly departed were 'dear' or even nice. But they still can use a warm touch upon their stone.
Since starting this meme I have received links to quite a few events in cemeteries. Not play-acted like this one, but often at night to encompass the scare-factor.
Thanks so much for this contribution to Taphophile Tragics, Sheryl. I am glad you re-badged it for us.
Haha! And I thought I had an unnatural interest in cemeteries!!
