HAPPY NEW YEAR, FELLOW BLOGGERS AND FRIENDS!
What can I say? The colors and effects of weather and light on the river are breathtaking and ever-changing. I never get tired of looking when the river is in one of these moods. You may have to enlarge this one to get the full effect.
This was originally going be my post for January 2, until I realized that the City Daily Photo Theme Day was "Changes." My original January 1 photo will post tomorrow.

I know how much I like this: we were out yesterday, almost under constant rain, taking pictures of the sea, the ships and the islands in the mist.
Love the light and the colors, the only real blue is in that patch of sky. A great image for a new year!
The variations on light that you have captured in this one shot, Sheryl, are terrific.
May I wish you health and happiness as we journey into Twenty Ten.
Fine gradation!
What is it about water that commands our attention?
Excellent Sherly. The water and the sky certaintly command our attention. I have seen that here---the light chasing the dark over the water. MB
Sheryl: Your comment on the laundromat and your efforts to do laundry was one of the most memorable for me in 2009. What an adventure. Hope your clothes are clean, your photos keep coming to us, and that you have a great 2010
Wonderful interpretation and serendipitous at that. I would love to live with a water view sometime . . . it is ever changing. Happy New Year!
I'm trying this on my professional computer from Quimper, I wonder how long I get until they tell me that I'm not looking at IT sites! ;-)
Happy New Year to you, hope to meet you this year and please convey my best wishes to Lee also, thanks!
P.S.: I'm not married yet!
Changes in light is good, changes in light on water is the best! Lovely photo.
Happy New Year!

This is an amazing photo, Sheryl. So much to see and the light is utterly fantastic! Super job.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments on our various blogs! You know the right things to say ... and can really make my day!
Hope that all is well with you. We're still in the midst of "stuff," so I'll be blogging only occasionally for awhile, but Lois Anne and I wish you the very best for 2010 - May all your dreams come true, and may you have a happy, healthy and prosperous year!
Beautiful photo, I wouldn't get tired of looking at a landscape like this either. Nice entry for theme day.
great atmospheric changes for theme day. well done! Happy New Year and I wish you many good photos in 2010!
Good choice Sheryl. The overcast typical gray sky with that one beacon of light shining down on the ship.
We headed out in the downpour today and drove to Grayland to eat at our favorite restaurant again. What an amazingly high tide there was today. Did it pour down your way too?
I like how the ship is glowing. Very nice image!
wonderful image! It really pulls you into the mood if it! Hope you had a wonderful new years!
