Snoot

Here's an in-your-face view of what was swimming around under the water in this post. Sea lions especially like the 36 Street docks where the boathouse was originally moored. You can find them almost any day if you walk out on the pier. However, I've spent a few visits chasing them around with a camera, and rarely gotten an in-focus closeup of one in the water. I'd have preferred to have framed its whole head, but I'm really not complaining. Say "Cheeeese" . . . er, "Salmon"!

It's a good shot though Sheryl. You're lucky enough to have it this close.

That's close enough for me. I've smelled enough dog breath, but can you imagine?

When Krise and I were in Westport on our honeymoon we went out on one of the docks. They were off-loading fish. The obviously damaged fish would get tossed into the water. There were 4 or 5 of these guys hanging around enjoying a free lunch. It was fun to watch. I'll have to post my shot of them one of these days. Great "up close and personal" shot Sheryl.

Ooooh hello there, cheese (that's what I HAVE to say being French!) I saw lots of them in Seattle but never this close, that's a wonderful portrait!

Great picture, nicely caught with either cheese or salmon. He is very cute, least I think so.

Just so they don't blame the wayward boathouse on some over-eager, salmon-mad sea lions. Karen

Next time you'll do better, but this is already outstanding. Are these huge beast so difficult to catch? I know they are very fast moving for their weight...
