The building, which includes the Harbor Master's office, is seen here across the calm water of the West Mooring Basin. I took the photo on a bright Sunday earlier in the year; lately Astoria has been living under a blanket of clouds and wet weather. There are quite a lot of boats in this harbor, which is larger than the East Mooring Basin on the other end of town. You only see a few of them here. As my friend Lisa and I walked around to the other side of the building, we heard music emanating from the top story, and discovered that some denomination was holding church services there. I really don't know much else about the use of this building, but I like the photo for its peaceful and scenic aspects.

The water literally looks like a mirror. It's so lovely!
More scenic than this, I really like this view.
There are so many shades of blue in this photo...beautiful..
Peaceful picture for sure but, as an old sentimentalist, I loved the look of the old Port building. It might be cool to put up a picture of it to contrast this one.
Thank you! I've included the link in the post now. :)
Great photo--absolutely lovely. I enjoyed the link, too!
Serene; so lovely; soothing; satisfying; even a bit sensuous...
This has most of the elements I love in a photo. And the composition is right on; the colors are superb; and it's nice and sharp.
Thanks, Tapirgal!
Wonderful still water. I have to say, it really is too bad the old building isn't there any more.
