Orange

I love it when the orange ships go by . . .

. . . especially on a day like this. No, I take that back. Especially any time. But they are quite something when the light singles them out of the riverscape and pops them into my visual foreground. The Lupinus - the orange ship - was on the move yesterday. The red and blue ship, Stella Eltanin, rested at anchor.

Great coloring on that ship. It looked enormous in the first photo but so small in the second. Love the contrast in relativity. :-)

Methinks this is one of your best shots...Cedar Key color!

I could spend hours watching them. I did so in Seattle! You've got a sky to die for here as well, these are great shots!

Sheryl! Is that actually a patch of blue in that sky??
Certain colors really stand out against the water and this certainly is one of them. Nice photos.

What a funny anchor has the Lupinus! (Where do they get a name like that?)
Obviously love this post, these ships, the wonderful sky and the grey water!

Orange dos stand out on the water, doesn't it? And the ships would add a bit of bright colour to an otherwise dull weather day. :)

It's clear that you have affection for this orange ship. It shows in the way you photograph it. Regarding your question about interior painting...that house in Townshend with the custom murals rings a dim bell. I don't think it was common but you do, from time to time, find evidence that an artist has been at work on walls or doors. This is an artsy community. We've only recently begun to celebrate it (and dare I say monetize it) but I think southeastern Vermont has tended that way for some time.
