Ship and Bridge: A Classic Astoria Scene

July 6, 2010

British Marine's Gloriana glides beneath the bridge in the morning sun, seen here from the 4th floor of the Holiday Inn Express in Astoria, Oregon. A couple of ships and many smaller boats came past while we were there.

You certainly had a glorious weather weekend, Sheryl! And with that view, you had every reason you'd ever need not to leave your room! I like the way the bridge in your capture takes your eyes to the freighter.

but it also looks to me as if a big dinosaur is picking up some food from the ship!
