This was the first home I purchased after moving to Astoria. It was a very compact little Sears home. The old growth timber was probably worth more than the house. These little homes can be found throughout Astoria. Many didn't come with bathrooms, so remodels often had to be creative about adding one. Loved the look of this house in Spring.

Waterfront
As with many locals, today I was volunteering at the Astoria Crab, Seafood and Wine Festival so ran short on time to find a daily image. This was a great treat to arrive in my email today!

Sunshine!
A
stunning day at the beach! The Peter Iredale is likely the most
photographed icon on the North Coast. She is an arresting image that
seems to be ever-changing as the light and sand drifts play across her rusting
bones.

Another Misty Day
Just another misty day in Astoria watching the ships go by. The building to the right used to have a fish market and I think the back was rented out as a net or gear shed.

Blue Scorcher
Blue Scorcher Bakery is classic Astoria. Where locals gather for their coffee or lunch as they collect their thoughts for the day and visitors come to enjoy the world class baked goods.

Low Tide
Here is a picture of the Astoria-Megler Bridge looking out over a low tide. The bridge is always a great subject for photographs.

The Call of the Mermaid
This is one of several tributes found at the Maritime Memorial located on the River's Edge in Union Town. Today's hard rain and grey skies seemed to me a good time to share this photo.

Everything's Beachy
Lots of people enjoyed the beach this weekend and left behind some interesting sculptures and other beach artifacts. This is a huge hole someone dug and carved out a couple of steps.
