Astoria, Oregon ~ October 9, 2012
These birds have had a long, dry summer to enjoy the sun. They seem to know what's coming, though. It has been pouring in buckets today, although when I took the photo on October 9th, the seagulls were only battened down against small gusts and a few drizzles. Lest anyone wonder about the Oregon climate, note what the seagulls' perch looks like after one of the longest dry spells on record.
I wish I could do what this gull is doing with its head.

Hello cousins! :-)
...It is time for the beauty parlor.

I love this. That bird is quite the contortionist!
Seagulls are fun to watch and the make quick work out of gullible tourists who don't hide their food!
These birds are pretty hardy, I'm sure they'll make it through the rains. We actually have quite a lot of gulls in Toronto. They always seem to congregate in parking lots too. I wonder why that is.
Glad to see you're back. I gave up regular checking along about July.
"Gators in drag"! You are so funny! Ocala's surrounded by hundreds of horse farms - some small and some huge. There's one in town not far from us that has been cut back to about 700 acres! It's gorgeous with rolling hills and tons of Live Oak trees.
Missing your posts! Hope all is well. :)
Hi Sheryl!
