Gosh, this photo brings back memories - of a wonderful trip to Astoria that we took in 2008. Too long ago! We didn't stay at this hotel, but we walked through the lobby and it was lovely. I think you are so lucky to live there. I would move in a minute if my hubby could find work there.
'Tis a wonderful picture, Sheryl! Love the colors and juxtaposition of the bridge and the hotel. It would be fun, I think, to spend a few days at that hotel. Looks like the tide is out...
Thank you for all your nice comments on Colorado. We were fortunate to get some decent photos. The one you asked about was taken last November in Salida's Franz Park.
A nice contrast between the spindly bridge and the lovely hotel. :)
I can't believe you haven't been to Venice. I sometimes think you've been to every beautiful corner in the world! The last time I was there (when I took that photo) was for carnival. It was a lot of fun, but very wet and cold. And we stayed with a friend who was renting a house where the heat didn't work well. I remember it took several days before I felt warm again. SO I recommend going during the warm season. Or stay at a place with a good heater. ;)
Odd. You'd think a big bridge over a hotel would detract the aesthetics of the structure, but the photo you took shows that it's not the case. Indeed, the two make an odd combo, but it does connect. The POV of the camera shows the beauty of the hotel itself, but I imagine looking out from the hotel would give you a beautiful view as well.

Hi Sheryl! That's a gorgeously composed photo!
Nice angle of the hotel under the bridge, Sheryl.
