You can clearly see the intricate details on the door, and they go well with the door frame and the overall façade of the building. In fact, the design is so detailed that you wouldn't think it a post office!

Danny RiddellDannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16337043291540775184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1893913257553092577.post-73685924551403105652009-11-12T01:02:29.933-08:002009-11-12T01:02:29.933-08:00I've loved this building since I was a kid. So...I've loved this building since I was a kid. Something about all the marble inside and the iron work on the doors and above. I also used to be fascinated with the 1st National Bank Building(now Wells Fargo). It was neat as a kid, all the tall ceilings, wood and marble details. They modernize and lose all the character. I suppose if you went back to the Midwest where nothing ever changes you might find some banks that look as they did 50-75 years ago.Midnight Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12690459454328721153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1893913257553092577.post-31230791674242081762009-11-03T23:40:03.879-08:002009-11-03T23:40:03.879-08:00Reading the comment of Lee I wonder if Postal Offi...Reading the comment of Lee I wonder if Postal Offices and their dwellers are identical everywhere!VPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10186211344492845052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1893913257553092577.post-51231928476063366202009-11-03T21:43:19.711-08:002009-11-03T21:43:19.711-08:00I sense a similarity to my post from yesterday. You are so fortunate that this Post Office is still in operation here instead of a renovated 7-11.Don and Krisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15836979417230059021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1893913257553092577.post-69767956268385922342009-11-03T20:28:31.024-08:002009-11-03T20:28:31.024-08:00I agree with everything you said...when I was in m...I agree with everything you said...when I was in my teens I would pick up a company's mail at the Minneapolis downtown post office early in the morning, deliver it and sort it before school.

The downtown post office was a huge, palace-like affair covered in marble and brass and had a distinctive smell...I loved the place.

Not many around like that anymore.Lowellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15305748075301453010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1893913257553092577.post-44257316534324381962009-11-03T09:38:28.893-08:002009-11-03T09:38:28.893-08:00Lovely details Sheryl would love to see more of th...Lovely details Sheryl would love to see more of the building.Amanda Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11631827449933791507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1893913257553092577.post-60550140046796149862009-11-03T08:57:14.519-08:002009-11-03T08:57:14.519-08:00The building makes you want to go to the post offi...The building makes you want to go to the post office in spite of long senseless lines and surely clerks, who occasionally go "postal".Lee Spanglerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02793240733282525356noreply@blogger.com
