Rectory in the Rain

Astoria, Oregon ~ November 20, 2012

I always love the variety of design and detail found in Astoria's older buildings. This one bears a plaque from the historical society. I believe this is on Franklin Street. I know it's near 15th. I did not take note of the denomination of the church next door, so maybe someone will tell me.

  2. 'Tis a beauty of a structure...love those garage doors, although it doesn't look like the area is being used as a garage.

If it's a "rectory," then I'd guess the church is either Roman Catholic or Episcopalian.

Wow, you really outdid yourself on the comments this morning. Thank you! It's so funny that your great grandparents were married in Leadville. That is one very cold place in the winter!

  5. Yay!!! I'm so glad you're back! :)
Love this pink house. You've got to be a certain kind of person to paint your home pink.

  6. It's Grace Episcopal. The house is just west of the Masonic Temple, which is across 16th St. from the Performing Arts Center (usta be a Presbyterian Church, IIRC).
